Missions Ministries

Souper bowl food update: the youth have started stacking your donations and we are 25% of the way to our 1000 can challenge. We need your help to meet our goal but more importantly, we need to help stock the shelves at CAC.
I work in the food pantry once a month, last Thursday the shelves were so empty we were unable to provide the amount of food a family was eligible for. Families are provided groceries once a month and the amount they receive is based on the number in the family. For example, a family of four maybe eligible for two boxes of cereal but there was none so they got none, or 6 packages of meal extenders but all CAC had was stove top so they got a couple of those but no hamburger or tuna helper. We will continue to take soup, chili, meal in a can items but will also accept any non-perishable items like canned fruit; can vegetables especially mixed, peas; meal extenders; pasta and sauce; canned meat, peanut butter and jelly; breakfast food items.

Haiti response--  Thanks to your generosity, we are sending $2000.00 to UMCOR this week for Haiti relief/recovery efforts.  Money is still coming in and we will collect through the first part of February and then send another check with the remainder contributed.  If you are making Health Kits, please have them in the box in the Narthex by February 5 so Dale Shott can take them to the Office of Creative Ministries.

Did you participate in Restaurant week?  Put your name and number of people who went out and the whether lunch or dinner so we can calculate how many people participated and dollars donated to Harvester via members and friends.  Sign up at the Welcome Center Sunday.
