OUR MISSION
According to Matthew 28:19-20, our purpose is: To make new disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world.
 
OUR VISION
According to Luke 18:35-43, we will:
  • INVITE our community into relationship with Jesus Christ and His church.
In Hickman Mills, southern Raytown and beyond – Individually share our faith with the unchurched on a monthly basis, helping to fill the sanctuary with passionate and diverse worshipers in multiple services.
  • GROW spiritually and numerically.
Constantly multiplying small group ministries that nurture new disciples and spiritually mature Christians with biblical wisdom and knowledge, with every member partipating.
  • SERVE our neighbors.
Live the Wesleyan principle of working with those in need of a stable, missional, economic and social presence.
 
OUR CORE BELIEFS
According to Romans 1:16-17, we believe:
  1. The Bible contains all things necessary for salvation.
  2. Those who love Jesus Christ will share their faith and serve others.
  3. The Christian church is a local and global community that welcomes all with “Open Hearts. Open Minds. Open Doors.”
OUR VALUES
According to James 1:22, we value: Love, Spirituality, Faith, Prayer, Passion, Invitation, Diversity, Inclusiveness, Generosity, Purposeful Change, Focusing Outward, Compassion.
 
OUR LEADERSHIP COVENANT
According to Luke 10:27 and our United Methodist Church Baptismal Vows, I vow to God my:
  • Prayers: I will pray daily with an open mind and heart for wisdom and discernment for the people and leaders of our church, community, nation and world.
  • Presence: I will participate weekly in worship at St. Luke’s unless unable to do so due to illness, travel, work, emergency or extenuating circumstances.
  • Gifts: I will make an annual pledge to tithe to St. Luke’s General Fund Stewardship Drive or to be working incrementally and annually toward tithing. I will participate in above-pledge giving in the form of special offerings as I am able.
  • Service: I will be actively involved in at least one other ministry area during the course of the year.
  • Witness: I will gratefully share my faith at least once a month by inviting individuals into a relationship with Christ.
